Internal BGP difference
There are 3 Internal BGP protocols, RIP, RIP2 and OSPF. This is about difference but this is a just memo.
How to detect route informations not owned by themselves
- RIP and RIP2 always advertise the route informations which they own
- OSPF receives the route informations from other routers and build network route tree.
How to detect other routers down
- RIP and RIP2 advertisement double as remote router's hello message
- OSPF sends hello message periodically
Which is difference between RIP and RIP2
- RIP is based on IP address class, but class is replaced with CIDR already
- RIP2 is based on CIDER
