Dropbox Debut! - Shammer's Philosophy

I have used GoogleDrive as my personal cloud to save my own data which I would like to backup. But, GoogleDrive is NOT supported Linux, there is no Linux client. That GoogleDrive has no Linux client makes me frustrated, and I try other personal clould to enable me to save my own data.

Dropbox is very simple as well as GoogleDrive. Dropbox provides us 3 install packages, rpm, deb and exe. I use Debian so download deb package, and install by dpkg -i $DROPBOX_DEB_FILE.

Dropbox free size is 2 GB, this is smaller than GoogleDrive. I use Dropbox to save my text data mainly, and GoogleDrive to save my photo mainly.

I changed my environment again to optimize using Dropbox, for examples,,,

move SKK dictionay to $Dropbox/skk
move My source code to $Dropbox/Tools
move Emacs config files to $Dropbox/.emacs.d
move Bash init files to $Dropbox/

I changed Emacs init file SKK dictionary configuration as below.

(defvar skk-user-directory "~/Dropbox/skk")

I will organize my steps to build my own environment in the near future.
